AN OPEN LOT with hundreds of pounds of garbage has been found in the shadow of the Ministry of the Environment.
The magnitude of the littering and dumping was enough to incense the executive director of the Future Centre Trust who appealed to Barbadians to stop their filthy habits.
Cherice Gibson said what was supposed to be a three-hour morning clean-up of the Warrens area had turned out to be an all-day effort.
“We have been going at it from 9 and at a glance you wouldn’t think we had done anything,” she said, as she revealed a team of seven volunteers who were hand-picking as well as using a garbage sucking machine to clean the area.
