GOVERNMENT has significant shortcomings when it comes to facilitating business, but instead of just criticising this and other issues, it is time for the private sector to detail how it is going to help “move our economy and society forward”.
Minister of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development Donville Inniss issued that challenge to corporate Barbados yesterday as he acknowledged their concerns, including “the silliness at Customs and Excise Department”.
Inniss was speaking at the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s post-Budget breakfast discussion at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
