GOVERNMENT must remain focused and tight as it continues to manage this country’s fiscal deficit.
Member of Parliament for Christ Church East Central Ronald Jones in his presentation in Parliament yesterday, said the Budget delivered on Monday by Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler was a continuation of this plan.
“A year and a half ago we were in great pains. We realised we were in a deficit in the region of 11.5 per cent and causing substantial strain on the resources of Barbados, including foreign exchange,” he said, noting that a set of policies followed, aimed at bringing it down to about 6.6 per cent.
