ANOTHER GROUP of young Barbadians has graduated from the Sport For Life programme, armed with skills and knowledge to improve their lives.

Sport For Life Barbados chairman Brenda Pope told the graduates at the recent graduation ceremony: “You are living and practical examples of many young persons regionally and globally who benefit from the concept of using sport as a catalyst to bring self-confidence, poise and life skills to individuals who are sometimes seen and considered as marginalised.

“You are now ready to prove everyone wrong and continue your journey to be the best you can be and to achieve all the potential that lies in each and every one of you,” the chairman said to the smartly-dressed young men and women attending the graduation hosted by British High Commissioner Victoria Deane at her official residence.

Close to 400 young people have completed the programme since its inception nine years ago. (GC)
