SAGICOR UWI’s FLOYD REIFER and Kavem Hodge scored centuries but Brathwaite’s Construction/Crane Resort St Catherine still managed to earn a hard-fought seven-wicket victory in their first round Elite division cricket match yesterday.

Needing 130 to win, St Catherine got home with 1.2 overs left of the mandatory 15 overs. Alston Bobb ended undefeated on 52 and Omar Phillips made 44.

Earlier, UWI resumed from an overnight 68 for five and required another 124 runs to avoid an innings defeat. Hodge, who started on 48 was soon joined by Reifer and they put on a magnificent 194 for the seventh wicket off 259 balls.

Eventually, Hodge fell for a spirited 127, his fourth hundred at this level which contained eight fours and three sixes from 196 balls in 239 minutes.
