Mas ‘more than’ bikinis, feathers

GRAND KADOOMENT 2015 should move beyond bikini mas and feathers and be about costume design that reflects Barbadian expressions.

This was the call from manager, marketing and corporate communications at Republic Bank, Debbie Stoute, as she signalled their involvement in the premier street parade of Crop Over at a sponsorship signing at the bank’s Broad Street branch yesterday.

Republic Bank Grand Kadooment was an opportunity to assist in the renewel of interest in costume designs and the presentation of kings and queens of the band, and the introduction and exposure of many of the young costume designers to the festival,” she said.
