MINISTER OF LABOUR Senator Dr Esther Byer has invited members of the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) to a meeting at 2 p.m. today.

The meeting is slated to be held at the Ministry in Warrens, St Michael to discuss the union’s concerns.

On Monday, the NUPW led a march of trade unions and public sector workers across The City, protesting the early retirement of 13 workers from the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation.

Up to Tuesday, president Akanni McDowall said they had not been invited to a meeting with Dr Byer or Prime Minister Freundel Stuart, but they were available, should a meeting be called. (MB)
