THE BEST CHANCE any sport has of finding that next great player is to get as many young players taking part and remaining involved for as long as possible.
That advice was given by American volleyball legend John Kessel as he addressed 18 coaches from Bonaire, Curacao, Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados at the start of an 11-day FIVB Level I coaches’ course at the Barbados Olympic Centre in Wildey recently.
Also present at the opening were Barbados Volleyball Association president John Griffith and course instructor Rudolph Krijnsen.
