ANY WASTE TO ENERGY PLANT will leave a “toxic legacy” for the island’s children says a visiting professor.
He feels the Barbados Government would be better off putting money into recycling, compositing and other waste reduction initiatives.
Professor Paul Connett, a former chemistry professor at St Laurence University inNew York, was speaking at a press conference which was hosted by the Future Centre Trust yesterday.
Connett, a strong opponent of waste-to- energy plants world-wide, said the proposed plant, to be built by Cahill, was a “huge threat” to the island. (HLE)
