TOO MANY CHILDREN are being forced to grow up in environments that make it difficult for them to dream of proper career choices.
That assertion came from retired educator Matthew Farley as he addressed the graduating class of West Terrace Primary School at the Western Light Tabernacle.
Speaking on the topic Following My Dreams, Farley, who had spent over four decades in education, cautioned the audience that following one’s dream did not speak to the faint and oft-forgotten images one experienced during sleep, but it was the setting of a career path which usually led to success.
However, the former head of Graydon Sealy Secondary School lamented that as an educator and parent, he was concerned that the right environment was not being prepared in Barbados for children to dream and to pursue those dreams. (KB)
