Mother says Abijah was her ‘sun’

ABIJAH IJESTIC HOLDER-PHILLIPS was laid to rest yesterday at Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens.

However, his funeral was not peaceful, as a family squabble marred the occasion, resulting in police being called in.

The 11-year-old lost his life on June 26 in a car accident near Coverley, Christ Church. A student of Welches Primary, he had passed for Queen’s College, a fact his mother Felisha Holder said he was most proud of, adding he could not wait to tell people.

“He eventually settled down in his schoolwork. He was determined to succeed and was able to achieve what he set out to do,” she said.
