ENRIQUE BABB set a record in the boys’ heptathlon shot put as team Barbados had a day of mixed fortunes at the CAC Age Group Multi-Event Championships in Trinidad and Tobago.

Babb won the shot put with a massive heave of 15.35 metres, erasing the mark of 15.26 set in 2011. Jamaica’s Antonio Watson was second with 13.71 metres, and Anguilla’s Lynolson Jean third with 13.39 metres.
Charissa Moore won the girls’ heptathlon long jump with 5.33 metres, just outside the championship record of 5.39 metres. Trinidad and Tobago’s Antonia Sealy was second with 5.31 metres, while Barbados’ Akayla Morris was third with 5.30 metres.
Morris was third in the 80 metres in 9.98 seconds, with St Lucia’s Julien Alfred winning in a championship record 9.63 seconds. Megan Moss was second in 9.96 seconds. The top three were below the previous meet record of 10.16 seconds. Moore was 19th overall with a time of 10.79 seconds.
