Family devastated by Devon’s death

THE PARENTS OF 18-year-old Devon Prescod found some measure of comfort in the arms of loved ones today as the body of their son was recovered from the sea.

Mother Dahlia Prescod, 37, who works at Chickmont sat on the beach being comforted by family and friends.

She said she was grateful that the body had been found so she could have closure and her son’s spirit could rest. She said she loved her son dearly.

His father Julian Bartlett said he was devastated.

Devon’s body was recovered from the sea at Long Beach, Christ Church, this morning by his uncles who were out into the night and early morning, searching for the missing youngster.

He went fishing on the sea rocks at Gemswick, St Philip and it is believed he fell off the cliff into the sea.

Everyone described Devon as a good boy who was polite and kind to everyone and who loved fishing. (MB)
