SOMETIMES we prefer to bury our heads in the sand not realising that the rest of the body is exposed. As a Christian I am quite aware of the challenges churches are facing. The leaders are responsible for teaching truth.
The recent prophesy by Apostle Lynroy Scantlebury is quite astounding, and downright ludicrous. Worst of all, he claimed “The Lord” told him the vision.
Where is the fulfilment of prophesies by T. Wayne Bishop and others after the tsunami which hit Indonesia in 2005? One prophet said she was told to go and live in St Thomas and to buy 40 to 50 gallon drums to save water. Have these persons gone underground since all their prophesies failed? Well, it won’t be any different for Mr Scantlebury.
All [some] so-called pastors can think about is money. Jesus did not mention anything about oil in His prophesies. He mentioned earthquakes in various places. Could any right-thinking Christian believe such nonsense?
Barbados or any country getting oil at this stage when the price is about US$40 a barrel would not benefit. What will a common man benefit from ten barrels of oil when he has to get it refined into gasoline or other products? Who will they sell this oil to? Other caricom states?
The price of oil has fallen as a result of shale oil which the United States and other countries are producing, as well as the continued production of Saudi Arabia and other Middle East countries. The oil market has a glut, hence the fall in price.
Barbadians, please beware of entertaining such ridiculous ideas. There are pastors and church leaders who do not believe what the Bible teaches about the “last days”.
