BAJAN JOCKEYS continued to shine across Canada over the weekend.
On Saturday at Northlands Park, Quincy Welch rode Modernotis to take the CAN$50 000 (BDS$76 000) Two-year-old Sales Stakes for colts and geldings over six and one half furlongs after stopping the clock in the day’s seventh race at 1:21.24.
Countrymen Rico Walcott and Desmond Bryan both recorded double strikes on the eight-race card. Bryan opened and closed out the card, utilising 1:12.22 off the clock for Riggs Flat to enter the winner’s enclosure.
He then put the seal on the day’s proceedings by going six furlongs astride Spacecase, who got the job done in 1:14.25. (LY)
