Emergency shutdown at Golden Ridge Pumping Station

THE BARBADOS WATER Authority (BWA) has informed the public that due to exceedingly low water levels at its Golden Ridge Pumping Station, there will be an emergency shutdown again from today Monday, August 10 at 6 p.m. until 4 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11.

As a result, residents in St Thomas, St George, St John and St Philip will experience low water pressure and outages.  

Affected areas will include Hopewell, Vaucluse, Content, Rock Hall, Shop Hill, Christie Village, Cane Garden Heights, Proute, Strong Hope; Applewaites, Locust Hall, Bournes Village, Paradise, Jericho, Market Hill, Cottage Grove Development, Cottage Retreat, Newbury, Todds; Tappy Pond, Wilson Hill , Sherbourne, Claybury, Cherry Grove, Pool, Four Roads, Lemon Arbor, Gall Hill, Carters , Glebe Land,  Clifton Hall, Edge Cliff, Church View, Newcastle, Foster Hall, Messiah Street , Colleton   Coach Hill, Sargeants Street, Pothouse, Society, Church View; Dodds,  Moncrieffe, Parish Land  and neighbouring districts.‎

Residents are therefore advised to store water for domestic use during the hours of disruption.

Tankers will be dispatched to the affected areas.

 The BWA apologises for the inconvenience and assures its valued customers that it is doing everything possible to rectify the problem. (PR)
