TWO HOUSES at Yearwood Road, Black Rock received electrical damage after a Barbados Light & Power incident in the area.

Communications coordinator of BL&P Jennifer Blackman said workers were trimming trees in the area when the line broke and caused a surge.

The incident was dealt with immediately by a crew on location, but not before damaging several electrical appliances as well as a television stand and carpet.

“I just started running and I don’t think I could run fast enough,” said Fay Worrell after hearing that house was on fire.

Kamelle Mayers, whose home also had some damage, said “accidents do happen”. (MR)
