Combermere, QC battle

QUEEN’S COLLEGE and champions Nicholls Baking Combermere will begin their quest today for supremacy in the most prestigious schools’ cricket competition.

At stake in the three-day final, which starts at noon at the Desmond Haynes Oval, will be the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) LIME Under-15 trophy.

Champions Combermere have a great chance of taking a record beaver-trick of titles. The undisputed gurus at this level will be looking to add another cup to their tally of eight (the most by any school) in their twelfth appearance in the final.

They’ve now reached this stage for the eighth time in the last decade. Last year, Combermere were victorious at Kensington Oval by a whopping 182 runs.
