THE Psychiatric Hospital has been spending no less than a million dollars annually to upgrade and renovate its facilities.
By the end of October a new state-of-the art kitchen should be completed at a cost of $7 million and by the end of September male patients housed in the Grassfield Unit, the largest male section at the hospital, will be relocated to a newly renovated section.
These were some of the areas highlighted when Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Tennyson Springer, took a WEEKEND NATION team on a tour of the Black Rock, St Michael institution yesterday, following the release of a number of photographs this week showing a section of the hospital in a dilapidated state.
