FLYING FISH AND COU COU: Business going down the drain . . . and fast

The farmers have complained about the money owed them. They say it is millions of dollars.

The staff complain about the shabby work conditions and also pay.  As a result the staff turnover is very high.

The public is always upset about the service, which ranges from poor to downright disgusting. There is always a shortage of stock and most times the finish is quite rough.

Just imagine after all their years and millions upon millions of dollars in profits, a big investor from a small island is moving to get the inheritance of the drumsticks and corn and biscuit business.

The slide of this business really makes it seem as though there is truly a curse on certain Bajan business people of a certain ethnic background.

Look at the main competition where the other man encouraging people to keep their fingers clean, pockets empty and ensuring the NCDs rise. He is making millions in profit with good service while keeping it all in the family.

As RPB asks in one of his songs, “Who or what am I?”

Pompous loser

Some people should go and listen to Joe Walsh’s song about Life’s been Good, and understand why this attitude ought not to be repeated. And a number of people saying that this is particularly true of a rather bombastic fellow often seen between Eagle Hall and Baxters Road.

This braggart, who comes from rather humble beginnings, has become ever so pompous as a result of his climb up the social and economic ladder. Success seems to have taken him to a new low of arrogance.

The unfortunate thing is that the dude who likes to boast of his international travel, his house with the a long driveway and the plan to send his seed to the best college overseas, has only succeeded in turning people’s mind from him.

Those with whom he talks are suggesting that he needs not try to be another Kayne and certainly don’t work hard to get the enterprise of stupidity title.

Kicking against pricks

WITH THE REAL possibility of a big payday from his efforts being very likely, a young entrepreneur has decided to exploit a situation to his advantage.

He has decided that he should stage a popular event near the airport and, as he is near this gateway, take the event to the Big Apple where many Bajans can come out to enjoy the spectacle. It may even go to Baltimore, where a lot of Bajans are and some can come over from D.C.

But there is a big stumbling block. This event planner is seeking the proverbial three coins in the fountain and that all are for him.

So when the top dogs in the show ask for a little stipend he turned them down, which is why the fantastic four are not in this action drama.

This entrepreneur does not seem to appreciate that he cannot get two sandwich loaves while all others don’t even get two slices.
