FORMER QUEENS Flow Sentry Brokers Deacons are one game from ending the preliminaries of the Goddard Enterprises Limited senior volleyball knockout unbeaten after scoring a tough five-set win when the all-girls night was staged on Monday night at the Wildey Gymnasium.
Deacons moved to 2/0 by defeating last year’s losing finalists Pan American International Insurance Warrens 26-24, 25-21, 24-26, 22-25, 15-13.
Veteran national player Julia Lewis led Deacons to victory over the once again inconsistent Warrens.
This evening’s Deacons-Carlton match at 6:30 should hand the former the direct ticket to the semi-finals. Carlton have been playing impressively but a loss tonight will demand a calculator to determine the positions in Group D.
