A SECURITY officer was reportedly knocked unconscious as two masked men staged a morning attack on the Black Rock branch of the City of Bridgetown Cooperative Credit Union.

The guard was taken for treatment as COB officials closed the branch in the old Carlton complex for the day, and brought in counsellors for staff. The men escaped empty-handed in a silver vehicle.

Senior credit officer Joseph Holder, one of a number of COB officials who visited the branch and met with law enforcement officials, told the Saturday Sun: “We won’t be commenting at this time.”

However, a press statement, sent out by Suzanne Prescod on behalf of COB, said the company was investigating the matter and “cooperating fully” with the Royal Barbados Police Force.
