BARBADOS’ PARTICIPATION at the 2015 Track and Field World Championships got off to a promising start yesterday in Beijing, China.
The country’s most consistent sprinter Ramon Gittens showed he’s ready to battle with the big names, qualifying for today’s much anticipated semi-finals of the 100-metre sprint.
World and Olympic champion Usain Bolt, and American star Justin Gatlin are sure to get all the headlines, but Gittens showed he’s no rabbit, clocking a personal best 10.01 seconds in his preliminary heat to make the last 16.
Levi Cadogan also put himself in contention by qualifying for the semi-finals.
