POLICE HAVE ARRESTED and charged a St James man following Sunday’s collision between a private van and a police vehicle.

Forty-three-year-old Anthony Orlando Phillips of Fox Club Gap, The Garden is expected to appear in the Holetown Magistrates’ Court today charged with failing to comply with police officers in uniform, driving without due care and attention, driving without reasonable consideration, dangerous driving and driving without a driver’s licence.

The accident occurred in the area of Fitts Village, St James.

Police say contrary to information circulating, officers were not engaged in a high speed chase or any manoeuvre to stop the driver of the vehicle.

All the police officers and Phillips were treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and discharged.  (PR/NB)
