IF THERE EVER was any doubt about Joel Garner’s popularity as president of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA), it was effectively cleared up yesterday evening when the association held its elections at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

The members showed their support for Garner by voting him back in for a fifth two-year term as president. “Big Bird” easily defeated two-time losing challenger Conde Riley 127 to 101.

When WeekendSport caught up with Garner after the results were announced, he said that while they will continue with pushing their youth programmes they will also be undertaking a review of how the association runs its business.
