Two lose lives following Congo Road crash

POLICE HAVE CONFIRMED that two people died in the accident involving a car and a pick-up truck at the junction of Congo Road and Tranquility Drive, St Philip this morning.

They are 49-year-old Michelle Gibson and 37-year-old Candace Clarke, both of Cave Hill, St Michael.

Gibson, who was a front seat passenger in the car, died at the scene while Clarke, the back seat passenger, succumbed to her injuries at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The car was driven by 38-year-old Shanty Bowen of Airly Tenantry, Cave Hill while the truck driven by Jonathan Brewster, 35, of Sealy Hall, St John.

Bowen received facial injuries while Brewster was treated for shock. (PR/NB)
