IT’S ON to the next one for Darian King.

Barbados’ top ranked tennis pro is home and ready to get back to work, having already put the heartache of his US Open loss behind him as he prepares for next week’s Davis Cup encounter with Ecuador.

“Right now Davis Cup has to be the main focus, and I think my preparation has been good after training with Sloane Stephens, who is a former top 15 pro,” said the 23-year-old.

King made the comment during a recent telephone interview with NATION SPORT ahead of the much-awaited September 18-20 first-round playoff tie slated for the National Tennis Centre.

“I just returned home and started a little training again. Nothing too hard as yet but I will really start the push from [today] with my fitness trainer Shannon Lashley. (JM)
