FRUSTRATED, TIRED and annoyed Transport Board commuters who use the Fairchild Street Bus Terminal were left stranded yesterday in the wake of the reopening of the Michaelmas school term yesterday.

The City terminal was packed to capacity around 4:30 p.m. with adults and schoolchildren spilling over the gates awaiting buses to take them home.

The travellers, who requested anonymity, fumed about the time they had to wait to get home.  It did not help when no official announcements were made regarding  the delays.

“The last bus was about three this evening. It is now twenty to five. The schedule just there for style, so when the bus come, it come. This morning there was  no bus after six; even schoolchildren had trouble getting buses for school,” said a commuter who was waiting for the Drax Hall, St George bus. (RA)
