Golden glory

WITH LOUD cheers from friends and family, a section of the Barbados Youth Commonwealth team was welcomed home yesterday.

Surprisingly, there was no official welcome party as golden boy Rivaldo Leacock led the team out of the Arrival Hall at Grantley Adams International Airport. Even so, the warm embraces and kisses the athletes received made up for that absence as well as the arduous return journey from Samoa.

Leacock, who has been a standout athlete from St Stephen’s Primary through to his BSSAC championship year at Lester Vaughan in 2015, captured gold in the 400 hurdles.
