More cannabis seized in the country

MORE THAN 3 000 marijuana plants were seized as police continued drug eradication operations today.

The largest haul was made at Vaughns Land, St Joseph, where 3 135 marijuana plants were discovered under cultivation.

At Welch and Coach Hill, both in St John, 138 and 17 plants respectively were seized.

The plants were being grown in bushy areas and ranged in height from six to nine feet.

No arrests have been made.

Drug Squad personnel were assisted by members of the Tactical Response Unit and the Marine Unit. (PR/SAT)
