UNINSURED VEHICLES on this island’s roads are a serious threat to all road users.

Though an accurate figure of accidents involving vehicles without insurance was not available, the General Insurance Association of Barbados (GIAB) suggests it was an almost daily occurrence which sverely impacted people.

“The GIAB is very concerned about the number of uninsured vehicles on our roads. These pose danger to not only innocent by-standers and persons in other vehicles, but also to passengers in the same uninsured vehicles,” said president Davis Browne.

His comments were in response to the SUNDAY SUN’s questions about this in light of the continued financial struggles of accident victim Tara Alleyne, who was seriously injured while travelling in an uninsured car.
