Children ‘forced to walk in street’

SOME PARENTS at the West Terrace Primary School fear an accident is waiting to happen outside the school.

Several of them complained about parents who park their cars on the sidewalks when they go to collect their children.

They say it forces the children to walk in the street, and expose themselves to the danger of being struck by oncoming traffic.

“It’s unfair,” an upset parent said. “The pavement is blocked on evenings. My son has to step in the road in order to get to school or away from school. That ain’t right . . . The big car park out there [at the National Cultural Foundation].
