EMPIRE thrashed Combermere School 6-3  when the Hockey National League 7s Tournament continued on Tuesday night at the Cave Hill Campus while UWI Blackbirds and CSOS played to a 1-1 draw in the Super League.

The first encounter saw Combermere taking to the field with just six players and Empire capitalised, rushing to a 3-0 lead with goals by Peter Alleyne (eighth minute), Akil Trotman-Grant (13th minute) and Akeil Craig-Brown (15th minute).

The second period proved to be no different as Jabari Puckering (19th) and Jabarry Brathwaite (22nd minute) secured two more goals for Empire, beating Combermere goalkeeper Clint Small.

With a 5-0 lead, Empire were on course for an even bigger victory but the arrival of Kyle Brathwaite for the Waterford side added life to the  Combermere midfield.
