Policies a must to boost youth

NEW POLITICES are needed to help pave  the way for a local Mark Zuckerberg, a business forum for students  heard yesterday.

Dale Trotman, founder and CEO of health tech start-up MedRegis, shared his views during the fifth school symposium hosted by the Barbados International Business Association (BIBA) at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

“We have a Rihanna but we don’t have a Mark Zuckerberg [Facebook founder] and this does not only go for Barbados but the whole Caribbean,” Trotman said.

It was possible to succeed as an entrepreneur, the innovator said, but  policies similar to those instituted by some African governments could  help create more  business opportunities.
