Talented semis

CONTESTANTS in the first of two semi-finals to determine the finalists of the 39th Richard Stoute Teen Talent Contest have executed their duty, but is it enough?

That is the question many were left pondering when the show was completed on Sunday night.

Indeed, there were a handful of standouts, namely: Nicole Sealy, Skye Harmony Skeete, Selywn Sivers, and, to a lesser extent, Lesha Moses. However, the overall talent was lukewarm, with many contestants disappointingly regressing from their preliminary appearances.

Of the 13 who appeared before the official and non-official judges at the Divi Southwinds Resort in Christ Church, Sivers was the main contender, hands down. Ironically, one of the youngest participants on the night, this lad showed maturity, savvy and much gumption as he redeemed himself from his junior final letdown the previous week.
