SHINING COPPER is coming for Gold.
Leading United States owner Ken Ramsey is putting his hopes on this horse to win next year’s prestigious Sandy Lane Gold Cup and claim what would be a historic hat-trick of victories.
He told WeekendSport from Keeneland racecourse: “Shining Copper is a front-runner and suits the Garrison track. He will take some beating.”
Ramsey has a sense for prestige and history and is extremely keen to surpass the back-to-back accolades he shares with Sir David Seale of Hopefield Stables.
The American saddled winners with the now deceased Major Marvel in 2014 and Sayler’s Creek this year.
