COLOMBO – The West Indies produced another limp batting performance yesterday as Sri Lanka’s bowlers pounced on indecisive footwork and muddled minds to seize the upper hand in the second cricket Test at the P. Sara Oval.

The visitors began Day 2 with guarded optimism after Sri Lanka had been shot out for 200 on the opening day. But an overnight 17 for one was swiftly transformed to 163 all out, with no batsman bettering Kraigg Brathwaite’s resolute 47.

Sri Lanka, with a first innings lead of 37, stretched that advantage to 113 as they closed on 76 for two in their second innings.

Earlier, pace ace Dhammika Prasad ripped out the heart of the West Indies order and claimed four for 34.
