‘Key role’ in shaping young minds

THE ROLE OF the teacher has shifted from being purely academic development to character building.

This is so because, according to Reverend Selwyn Brathwaite, the teacher’s task is to erase ideas that have been deeply engrained in impressionable minds based on today’s culture.

Brathwaite, minister in charge of Kingdom Life Assembly, Inch Marlow, Christ Church, was speaking at the Teachers Appreciation Day at the St Bartholomew’s Primary School, where 16 of them were awarded on Tuesday.

Brathwaite said children are different and it was no fault of their own.
