IT’S RUMBLE and tumble near the river.
A big shot who operates constitutionally near there has been told to go get some rest by a feisty woman who has shown who is really in charge.
All eyes are on what will be the outcome of this showdown involving the woman who is hoping to take up residence soon in Bay Street and the man who cannot be found, but is believed to be in seclusion preparing for battle.
This showdown by the river has left three people unsure what to do.
Miss Most Wigs, Mr Loud Laughter and Proud Daddy. The big shot, who is like an uncle to many, is a close colleague of all three. They have been comrades-in-arms for many causes, from the good ole’ days when they all had chalkdust in their faces to more recent times when they sat and counted dollars, quarters and tens-cent coins. From the river to Lower Collymore they ran things.
Causing a stir
But now this Saturday morning walker has caused a big stir with people putting their hands over their mouths in utter disbelief.
The small fish down by the river side just hoping they don’t get caught in between all the bacchanal and plan to be very obedient. The most popular words echoing across the old school yard will be: Yes, ma’am, yes, please and most certainly, ma’am.
The only fear is that plans for big things leading up to November next year don’t get disrupted.
Some people are wondering if the successor to Rawle Parkinson’s legacy will be commenting on the matter.
Lady determined not to lose play
A cricket team may have one captain but it must also have two opening batsmen and two opening bowlers, one from either end.
And even if the players perform poorly and when the captain gets in the pavilion and starts to shout blue murder and cuss and carry on, he may realise that the players going to cuss he back and sometimes even threaten to remove him as captain. If you look at West Indies cricket in recent years the picture is very clear.
So when the captain, the one and only of the totally united team meets with the lady who likes to see if you are smiling with pearly whites, it will be interesting who will tag along.
Will it be the one of Mr Doolitle fame and many others? And will the sheriff be on the other side with the tall boy from Whitehall who frequents Grazettes peeping through the flaps at the goings on.
Well one thing is certain, and that is the great document called the constitution is being perused and gone over to see why this lady who admires beautiful smiles should not be asked to stay away once and for all.
But despite her quietness and not even being a middle order batter or change bowler, the lady with friends in Harts Gap and St Matthias, is known to study things very clearly and has been looking out over the boardwalk quietly mulling over
things and determining whether to take strike, offer to bowl, or even keep wicket.
She is determined not to let the selectors drop her for poor performance and will not behave badly off the field of play. Not even when people cuss and do bad while she was not in the pavilion.
Basking in fatherhood
Age is just a number. That’s what Proud Daddy has been saying and proving how happy he is now posting pictures of the offspring on social media.
The talk already is whether the little one will some day grow up to get involved in active politics or rather stick to what is a family tradition; become an educator.
Well, that’s a long time off, and if God grants Proud Daddy the privilege he would be on in age anyhow and most likely long retired.
People are wondering whether Miss Most Wigs will be god-mum.
