‘All’s not well’ with water tanks

SOME RESIDENTS of rural water-scarce communities are expressing mixed emotions about the waters tanks installed in their area.

James Catlin, of Ginger Works in Branchbury, St Joseph, said while there were “upsides” to the tanks, they were not secured and feared the water could be easily contaminated.

“You see the top of that tank, there is no lock on it so anybody can open it and throw anything in it,” he told the DAILY NATION on Sunday afternoon.

“And obviously, if you have people catching water, the water is going to spill. When I went there one night I had to walk in mud. So if you have older people going there, they can slide down. There is nothing to put the buckets on; you have to go on the grass, so I’m saying if they are going to do it, do it properly,” he added. (TSG)
