FORMER PRINCIPAL of The Lodge School Desmond Browne believes that the traditional approaches to the delivery of education need to be change.
Browne, who shared his thoughts on the use of cell phones and tablets in schools, said they could serve as a good teaching tools and sources of information but the issue was the management of the students. A challenge, he said, was that when he was a child and an adult said do not do something, the child listened.
Noting that this was no longer the case, Browne said certain guidelines had to be put in place.
He made the remarks as he delivered the annual Edward Powlett Memorial Lecture at the Grantley Adams Memorial School this evening.
