A FORMER Barbados Labour Party (BLP) Member of Parliament says there must be unity between the candidate and the constituency branch.
Speaking on Sunday at a luncheon at Sunbury Plantation to honour his sterling contribution to the St Philip North constituency and Barbados as a whole, Rudolph “Cappy” Greenidge told the audience that a Maria Agard situation was not ideal.
“The candidate has to listen to everybody in the branch because the branch must have confidence in the candidate, and the candidate must have confidence in the branch. And there shouldn’t be no Maria Agard-type of thing at all. That is nonsense!” he said to loud applause.(MB)
