CHIEF OF SECURITY at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies, Oral Reid has confirmed that a Dominican female student was viciously attacked while walking home from university last Thursday night.

Reid said police were investigating.

According to reports, the student was struck in the head with a blunt object, dragged into a nearby bush where she was bound and gagged with duct tape and had her clothing ripped off.

A source added that the student begged her attacker to spare her life and he stole her jewellery and other possessions, threw kerosene oil on her and attempted to light her three times.

However, Reid told the DAILY NATION yesterday that the student mentioned nothing about kerosene oil and attempts to light her.
