Miss Agard being used as a pawn

PLEASE ALLOW ME to share my views on the Maria Agard issue.

I was a member of the constituency of Christ Church West under Sir Henry Forde. I left Barbados 38 years ago and returned every three to five years. I am back home for a little while and I have been following and listening intently to the issue.

I recall some time ago that these issues were raised with former Prime Minister Owen Arthur and Member of Parliament George Payne, who failed to resolve them, and no one at that time questioned the then leader or Payne about their leadership; neither did anyone tell them to watch their step and it did not make national headlines.

I have concluded that Miss Agard is being used as a pawn by both past and present members of the party to try to undermine the current leader – one can clearly see that these political dark shadows are up to their dirty old tricks once again. This is to destabilise the party again by removing and destroying the reputations of the current leader and to reinstate the old grandmaster of politics of inclusion.

But this won’t be a case of kiss and make up again. The only one in history and on earth to rise again was Jesus.

I wish them luck because as much as she wants to (come let us reason together) bring healing between Miss Agard and her executive, this is out of her hands because the people of Christ Church West, having carried out their valuation, have concluded that Miss Agard’s behaviour and stewardship are erratic.

To Mr Payne: you need to keep out of Christ Church West affairs and make sure that you win your seat next time by more than a busload.

This is a warning to all and sundry: remember there is a God; today for me and tomorrow for you. I would advise the party leader to find a candidate. Do the politically correct thing to resolve it – call a nomination, full stop.
