Agard faces accusers today

TODAY IS DECISION DAY for Member of Parliament Dr Maria Agard.

Her political future will be on the line from around 5 p.m., when she is expected to face the 52-member national council of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) to answer nine charges of indiscipline.

The outspoken first-time representative for Christ Church West could face expulsion from the party.

Even as Agard was on the job at her dental practice in Strathclyde, St Michael yesterday from as early as 10 a.m., the lips of most party members were sealed.

Agard said she was unavailable for comment.

And party leader Mia Mottley wouldn’t offer much more.
