“POETIC JUSTICE!” That is how attorney Barry Gale, QC, has described Bjorn Bjerkhamn having to pay $3 million for The Farm Plantation, which he says he no longer wants, after a 17-year court battle.

In a written response to THE NATION regarding this latest development, Gale said he was not surprised.

“It is ironic, if not poetic justice, however, that in the final analysis, the result of the CCJ’s decision is that Mr Bjerkhamn is now obligated to pay Mr (Stephen) Ward approximately $3 million for The Farm Plantation which he no longer wishes.”

Gale noted that he had spoken to Bjerkhamn on several occasions over the years asking him to withdraw his legal challenge . . . but he had been told by Bjerkhamn that “if he could get the plantation for $1.3 million, then why should he not proceed to try and get it for that price”. (MB)
