Leaking well stinking up place

THERE IS a stench in St Austell’s Lane, The Pine.

And residents know exactly from where it is coming. And they can see what’s causing it too.

The stench of human faeces is emitted by water from an overflowing well in the area. The water is running downhill, following the path of the road before it disappears into grass more than 100 metres from its starting point.

Vehicles splash through the effluent; children skip through it unknowingly, and adults challenge their nimbleness as they jump over it.

Lionel Nurse is not happy with the situation. And he said he is tired of trying to get the authorities to rectify the situation. (HLE)
