St Lucy lifts trophy

AT THE END of the 2015 Spirit Of The Nation Show when the blue and gold confetti streamed down from the roof of the Wildey Gymnasium and the fireworks sparkled, it was the Parish Ambassadors for St Lucy Doncia Cumberbatch and Donniko Griffith who raised their hands and jumped for joy with their supporters all dressed in green.

This was a signal of their victory. And all roads led to the north of Barbados; whether by bus, car, or plane, the place to be was St Lucy: Double D’s Destination 439.

The theme for the 20th annual show was Community-Based Tourism and the duo, aptly called Double D, armed themselves with a specially designed passport for a plane ride to St Lucy. This was a part of their parish project, St Lucy: Destination 439 – Experience It!
