TRADE UNIONISTS have been advised to get involved in the lives of young people as they will be the ones to carry on the movement in years to come.

UWI lecturer Dr Akhentoolove Corbin, who delivered the feature address at an Executive Labour Leaders’ Symposium yesterday, added there was need for the trade unions to attract the youth.

Speaking on the topic Strengthening and Repositioning the Labour Movement at the National Union of Public Workers Headquarters, Dalkeith Road, St Michael, Corbin said more harmony needs to be seen within the trade unions and the movement must be more strategic at the national level.

The symposium was hosted by the Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Associations of Barbados in conjunction with the International Labour Organisation. (MR)
