PROMINENT BUSINESSMAN Rawle Brancker says hostile takeovers are here to stay and has called for small businesses to begin laying the groundwork to avoid becoming victims.

His warning comes as two overseas companies continue to battle for the takeover of Banks Holding Limited, a matter that is before the law courts.

In a message to members of the Small Business Association (SBA) yesterday, Brancker identified hostile takeovers as the latest challenge to their survival.

He warned dozens of members attending the SBA’s annual general meeting at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre that survival strategies are critical to navigating “these shark-infested waters”.  (WILLCOMM)
